Check that each device is signed in to the same Apple Account, and that iCloud is on for PearlCV in Settings, under your name, iCloud. Changes made offline sync the next time the device is online, usually within a minute of opening the app.
My CV runs onto a second page
Tap the capsule under the page and choose Fit to One Page. If it still doesn’t fit, hide an older role or a few bullets on this CV: they stay in your profile for your other CVs.
Sending to a job portal
Send the same CV. Export checks how applicant tracking systems read it: when it says Ready for hiring systems, it’s ready for portals too. If a check needs a fix, Export says what and takes you there, or offers an ATS-safe copy in the same design.
Purchases
PearlCV Pro is bought through the App Store and works on every device signed in to the same Apple Account. If it doesn’t show as yours, open Settings in PearlCV and choose Restore Purchases. To cancel a weekly subscription, choose Manage Subscription in PearlCV’s Settings, or open the subscriptions in your Apple Account.
More questions
Do I need to make an account?
No. PearlCV keeps your profile and CVs on your devices and syncs them through the iCloud account you already use. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to remember.
How much does it cost?
PearlCV is free to download, and the free plan makes a complete CV: one profile, one CV and the Pearl design, exported as designed, free forever and without a watermark. You can also import the CV you have. PearlCV Pro adds the hiring-systems check with its fixes, how your CV fits each job, every design, the writing assistant, cover letters, unlimited CVs and profiles, and Applications, for $4.99 a week or $19.99 once for good (US prices). You can try every design with your own CV before you unlock Pro.
What happens if I stop paying for Pro?
Nothing you made is locked or deleted. Every profile, CV and application stays yours to read and edit, and every CV still exports as designed in Pearl. Pro only adds designs, features and room to make more.
Will my CV get through applicant tracking systems?
Nobody can promise that, and PearlCV doesn’t. What it does: it writes real text into every PDF, and with PearlCV Pro it checks your CV the two ways parsers read a PDF, in the order the file stores it and rebuilt from the page’s layout. Seven checks cover what parsers need, from contact details to content filed under the right headings, and you see the text a parser actually gets, with what to fix. Every template passes them with a full CV, so you send one CV everywhere. If your own changes trip a check, Pro says what and takes you to the fix, or makes an ATS-safe copy in the same design. On the free plan, Export shows that the checks have run on your CV, and says when something needs a fix.
I apply and hear nothing back. Is it my CV?
Often it is neither you nor your CV: hiring is slow, roles get filled internally, and good applications lose out to other good ones. But one cause is invisible from where you sit. Many employers first put CVs through an applicant tracking system, which pulls the text out of your PDF and files it. A design that looks perfect can come through with its columns mixed up, its skills filed under Experience or its email missing. Try selecting all the text in your PDF and pasting it somewhere plain: if it comes out jumbled, a parser may see the same. PearlCV Pro shows you exactly what a parser reads in your CV, and what to fix.
Can I import the CV I already have?
Yes, free on every plan. PearlCV reads a PDF (from Word, Pages, Google Docs, Canva or LinkedIn), a Word file, a scan or photo of a printed CV, LinkedIn’s data export, or pasted text, on your device. It sorts your details, roles, dates, bullets, studies, skills and languages into your profile, then shows you everything before it goes in: untick what you don’t want, fix anything it misread, and import. If you already have a profile, what it holds is marked so nothing is doubled, or you can keep the import in a profile of its own.
How long does it take to make a CV?
About five minutes for a first CV. A guided setup asks for your details, your roles, studies, skills and languages one step at a time, and your CV builds itself as you answer. Skip anything you like and finish it later from your profile.
Can I keep more than one CV?
Yes. You write your profile once and make as many CVs from it as you like, each with its own template, layout and language. Hide a role on one CV and it stays on the others; change a line for one CV only, or for all of them.
Can I keep track of where I applied?
Yes. Applications keeps every job you save or apply to, with the posting, where it stands, your own details such as the salary you asked for, and a copy of the exact PDF you sent. Paste a job’s link or share it from Safari, and record a CV as sent right from Export. Everything stays on your devices and in your iCloud.
How do I get it onto one page?
PearlCV shows how your CV fits as you write, such as “1 page + 6 lines”. Fit to One Page tightens spacing first, then margins, and only at the end the type, within limits each template sets. If it still doesn’t fit, PearlCV says so, so you can hide an older role instead.
Which languages can my CV be in?
Headings, dates and “Present” are written in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch or Romanian, chosen per CV. Your own words stay exactly as you write them. The app itself speaks the same eight languages, and starts your first CV in yours.
Can it write a cover letter?
Yes, with PearlCV Pro. Each letter is written for one job and set in the same design as the CV you send, with your header, type and colour. Tell the writing assistant why you want the job and it drafts the letter from your profile and the posting, in your CV’s language. You edit it, then share the PDF.
Can it tell me how well my CV fits a job?
Yes, with PearlCV Pro. Paste a job posting or its link and PearlCV lists what the job asks for, then checks each requirement against the CV you’d send and the rest of your profile. Each one shows whether your CV shows it, shows it weakly, has it elsewhere in your profile, or doesn’t mention it, with the line it’s based on. The verdict comes from rules you can read, never a made-up percentage, and nothing counts that you haven’t written down.
Can I add a photo?
Yes, in templates made for one, such as Atelier. Photos are shown by default where they are customary, such as in Germany, and left off where they usually aren’t, such as in the US and the UK. You decide for each CV.
Does PearlCV use AI?
Only where it helps, and only on your device. The writing assistant uses Apple Intelligence’s on-device model to turn what you say into bullets, rewrite a weak line, draft your summary, read a job posting for job fit and tell apart the parts of an imported CV. It never invents facts, nothing you write is sent anywhere, and every suggestion waits for you to keep it. It needs a device with Apple Intelligence; the writing hints are simple rules that work everywhere.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or later, and Mac with macOS 26 or later. It is a native app on each, and your CVs stay in step through iCloud.
